Evaluation of Thermal Fatigue Failure Probability at a Mixing Tee Subjected to Random Fluid Temperature Fluctuation
The University of Tokyo, Department of Nuclear Engineering and Management, 7-3-1 Hongo Bunkyo, Tokyo, Japan
Calculation of fatigue damage and fatigue life of a mixing tee considering uncertainty on loading and strength parameters has been achieved by conducting Monte Carlo simulations with the aim of clarifying the effect of the uncertainties on the prediction of fatigue damage and quantifying the level of safety of mixing tee designs.
Key words: Monte Carlo / high-cycle thermal fatigue / thermal striping / mixing tee
